Just a quick blurb: I was looking for some drink recipes, and came across this site: theBar.com. Not only is it filled with great content (tons of recipes, all of which are searchable by a numerous amount of characteristics), but the user experience was great.
Before they let you enter the site, they ask for your birth-year (not that you couldn’t lie) to make sure you’re the legal drinking age for your region. They also ask for your first name, to help “personalize” the site to you. At first, I thought this would be no more than seeing your name at the top of the page. I was wrong! You are greeted by a digital bartender (a real person), Jack. Not only does he greet you, but he also speaks your name (quite well for me). Jack also has other interesting things to say, if you click Ask Jack, he’ll tell you stories revolving around several types of drinks.
If you’re the legal age (or even if you’re not), check out theBar.com. It’s not only informative, it’s fun.
